Note

"This is a blog about Ginga series (a fan blog, more or less)
But also Yoshihiro Takahashi and his work as ; Ginga Nagareboshi Gin, Yamato, Fang , Giant, Densetsu Weed, Orion, and others.
So the blog is more a way for me to write about my passion, perhaps addiction in my life : )
There are talk, theory, ideas .So I don't clam to be an expert , I'm just Ginga insane and like to talk, write. Perhaps we together on the blog can find clues, theory, idea's about the merchandise, item's. And bring more lights on things"
! Beware !
The Blog site can give out spoilers (I will warn aswell) And I can also write about topic that can have violence, bloody contain.
Many of
Yoshihiro Takahashi can hold such theme & contain. But I probably will warn at the start on the blog, is that is necessary.
Other then that there are just my thought and ideas as a ginga insane collector ; )

Helpful links

I stared to hate the word : RARE

That are sadly used to often when it come to Ginga item's

Right , I admit there is some rare item's, merchandise
And some are hard to even see on auction's
That's true

BUT
Beware , that there is sellers that can try to use the word over and over
Just so they get more buyers , sell more

And sometime there are way hight prices , over prices, rip off
So you need to be wake and think before your thinking to buy

I even back in the year of 2006 and forward made list , of place to look
So I will do some here
You can take a closer look at Mybravestarr_shoppinglist

When it comes to to most findings when it come to item's, merchandise
The place's you shall look is :

Auction sites:

 Bidders.jp
 - Japanese auction site.
You need a member account to bid or some one who can bid for you (perhaps middleman)

There can you find manga's, books, cd and more
I use the site to find some manga's, that can be hard to get some time
Keywords:
銀牙 (Ginga), 銀牙 流れ星銀 (Ginga Nagareboshi Gin), 銀牙伝説ウィード  (Ginga Densetsu Weed)
or just 高橋義廣よしひろ (Yoshihiro Takahashi )

* Note that in Japan have Yen : ¥; (JPY) as currency

  Ebay
- English auction site .
You need a member account to bid.
Here you can find many thing.
Look for keywords: Ginga, Ginga Nagareboshi Gin, Ginga Densetsu Weed, Yoshihiro Takahashi and so one
But you need to be awake, some can try to take a over price of things.

* Note the currency depend on the seller.

 Huuto.net
 - Finnish auction site.
You need a member account to bid. Or if you can find someone who can bid for you
Of the the Scandinavian countries this is a nice place to find item's, merchandise
Keywords: Hopeanuoli (Ginga Nagareboshi Gin), Ginga, or Hopeanuolen poika Weed (GNG, Gin's son Weed)- meaning Ginga Densetsu Weed series
Or just you can look after : Ginga Densetsu Weed and Yoshihiro Takahashi
You can get some results

* Note that in Finland have Euro € as currency

 Mandarake
Japanese online and auction site. The site is in Japanese, English
You can go to their auction site : Here
You need a member account to bid or buy.
There you can find ; Doujinshi, Manga, Cel's, Toys and other things.
They have many connection and shops , so you can contact them and ask about some item's, merchandise.

* Note that in Japan have Yen : ¥; (JPY) as currency

 Tradera
 - Swedish auctions site.
You need a member account to bid. Or someone that can bid for you
In the past tradera were one of the place (outside Japan) that you could for a time find ginga item's, merchandise. Sadly it's more usual to find things now days.
But sometime there can be stuff that show up on the auction
Keywords like: Silver Fang (Ginga Nagareboshi Gin), Ginga, Weed-Silver Fangs Son (Weed son of Gin) meaning Ginga Densetsu Weed

* Note that Sweden have kr/kronor as currency

  Yahoo Auctions.jp
- Japanese auction site.
You need a member account to bid or have someone who bid for you
Sometime this is a heaven and a hell to find ginga item's, merchandise.
Sorry to use strong words, but that place can be a paradise to find things.
But also this is a true auction and the price can be hight. Worse when it's comes to bid wars.
You never know what can shop up at this place. That good but ti's often for a short time as well.
so you need to keep a eye out or be lucky
Keywords:
銀牙 (Ginga), 銀牙 流れ星銀 (Ginga Nagareboshi Gin), 銀牙伝説ウィード  (Ginga Densetsu Weed)
or just 高橋義廣よしひろ (Yoshihiro Takahashi )

* Note that in Japan have Yen : ¥; (JPY) as currency
---

If you want too bid on the Japanese action site for example :
There is a good idea to use a Middlemen.

With Middlemen  it's means there are companies who can bid for you.
If that about auction, shopping at a Japanese store and so one.
And here are some of the list  you can check look up:

Celga
Mail Order Japan
Rinkya
Shopping Mall Japan
White Rabbit Express

----

I know that I have written about auctions sites.
But those are nice place to find things ^^

Two other site's I can recommend is

7netshopping.jp
Japanese site. You need a account there or if you have someone who can bid for you
You can find book's, manga, dvd's, cd and many other things.
I use that palce to find manga's for a good price.

Keywords:
銀牙 (Ginga), 銀牙 流れ星銀 (Ginga Nagareboshi Gin), 銀牙伝説ウィード  (Ginga Densetsu Weed)
or just 高橋義廣よしひろ (Yoshihiro Takahashi )

* Note that in Japan have Yen : ¥; (JPY) as currency

Amazone.jp
 - Japanse site.
You need a account there to buy, or if you have someone who can bid for you
Here can you search of book, manga and other things
This is a great place to look for manga, magazines when it come to Ginga.
The bad part is sometime there isn't any images on the manga, book.
So it's can make it harder to find the one you looking for.

Keywords:
銀牙 (Ginga), 銀牙 流れ星銀 (Ginga Nagareboshi Gin), 銀牙伝説ウィード  (Ginga Densetsu Weed)
or just 高橋義廣よしひろ (Yoshihiro Takahashi )

* Note that in Japan have Yen : ¥; (JPY) as currency

Weed Fever

In the year of 2009 the Ginga Densetsu Weed became a Pachinko Game

- Hm What is the Pachinko, this Pachinko Machine ?
What I can understand the Pachinko machine ( pachisuro, pachislo) is a popular gambling machine in Japan. More or less video slot machines.
Those similar to a slot machine, arcade game, but instead of coins it uses balls.
The main focus is to collect, capture as many balls as possible when you play the Pachinko game.
Later if you collect the balls you can exchange those for prizes.
Perhaps candy or other things

Here is a video on youtube that can perhaps show you how this games goes:
"How to play pachinko【パチンコ(英語)】"

Read more about the Pachinko on wikipedia and Vintage Pachinko
As well as on this site : Pachinko-Play.com/_about_Pachinko

You can vised this site to see more images from the game ; Weed Pachinko Game Images
The creator or the one publish the game were: Sankyo Fever
You can co in at their home page at : Sankyo-fever.co.jp/pachinko_Weed

Close up on the Weed Pachinko

There were a release with a  Ginga Densetsu Weed Pachinko poster.
Sadly this one are hard to find now days

Image found on a auction, a time back
On auctions you could (and still can see) see brochure, booklet, Dvd with trailer for the game (all in Japanese)
The brochure, booklet have many image from the Weed Pachinko machine
Brochure ,booklet and unopened  DVD trailer
The size of the brochure & dvd then ?

Well the dvd holder size is : 12,5 cm x 14,2 cm
Close up on the Dvd. You see Hougen vs Weed

The large brochure ,booklet is 36,9 cm x 25,6 cm
And have ten pages
The cover
I just love the image background of the Mountain
Some image from the brochure ,booklet
The small brochure,booklet is 18 cm x 12,7 cm
And this one have also ten pages
On the cover it's says : Official Guide book

The cover
Some image from the brochure ,booklet

Weed Fever is to fight and win over Hougen, Kaibutsu ,Kamakiri with other villains.
You have Weed and many other Ou warriors (from the anime) to fight and beat those opponent, villains.
This is from Ginga Densetsu Weed the anime anime character designs. And extra for the just the game. Or so I heard

I like the brochure, booklet for the images are beautiful and interesting.
I really like the large brochure ,booklet just for the size and the images. The mixed colors , image and the character.
I just want to go and play the pachinko machine.
That looks like fun. But I worried about the sound .
A time back there are trailers from the dvd on youtube and  the sound were really loud, annoying loud. And flash looking scenes that can hurt the eye, at lest even you are not use to this kind of games.
But still that most be so awesome to play Weed Fever

Don't you think that too ?     : )

Thanks Anttu for do some trading and helping me out
I'm so grateful to have the the Hopeanuoli vhs

Take a look at Anuttu's blogs
Gingamadness  ,  Hopeatiikeri

To bad that my camera isn't the best , otherwise I could have more photo's

The interesting is that this edition are resemble to the Swedish release of the vhs
The best thing is you can see the release date on the Hopeanuoli vhs's and other info
And the vhs tape's were really in a great shape

I still adore the Vhs taps with Silver Fang, Hopeanuoli , Ginga Nagareboshi Gin

Remember Benizakura?

They called him ; " The Strongest Dog Of All Time "

Images from Ginga Nagareboshi Gin anime, the manga and Shin Gaiden.
Benizakura the old man who become a legend
Fearful dog fighter, once the champion in the arena . He made his name famous fighting
But also one of the memorable character from the series of Ginga Nagareboshi Gin.
At lest in the Scandinavian countries
Either if you have Benizakura as a favorite or not one thing is for sure : He made a impression

Here is a great fan-video : About Benizakura
Made by user HAKUROJAKI

Beni (called by fans) gave a impression some kind of Warrior Soul
He were high-spirited ,had honor and were deadly in battle. But also impressed spirit,he wise, thoughtful, at same time impulsive, had determination and the courage. As well as a warm, gentle heart.
At a young age Benizakura show talent when it came to the art of fighting.
A life time in the arena, more or less.
But after meeting his old nemesis, rival  Tsuna Arashi
Benizakura took a other way in life ...
And year later a new path come to Benizakura

But even Benizakura wasn't ready when he meet Cross, the Saluki, Gin the Akita.
They both impress him and also change his life.
Benizakura destiny become something els
A Solider, Warrior ...
In a bear war more or less

As a veteran and a wise fighter, soldier Benizakura gave advise and inspire courage when time time closed more and more. When the Ou warrior closed to their mission:
"The war against the bears in the northern mountain"

In the cut series the Swedish edition had (both vhs and part of the dvd release) fans didn't see or got to know the fate of Benizakura.
Not until the release of the uncut , or if they saw the more uncut scenes of the Korean version.
That you could found on the net, at that time. Or buy, some try to make money to sell pirate copy's on the Korean version and did, try to sell to fans.
At that time it were hard to find info and see the uncut scenes from the series.

Benizakura had most interesting fighting scenes and one of the heroic deaths.
It's hard not to be
touch when Cross are saved by Beni and his owner
And she tell him about her mission.
To find the little leader Gin and tell him about the important message, news.
And how Gin challenges Benizakura in a deadly fight.

And how later , after many adventures, fight, moments :
Benizakura the fighting champion gets the heroic death.
Fighting the bear Mosa and drown in the process.
Beni give his life to kill Mosa and are calm in the every end

A moment that touch the heart and can make the tear fall down the cheeks.

Gin & Benizakura theme on the dvd
"Hopeanuoli" ・ "Silver Fang box " (Steelbook, Metalbox) were release in the year 2002-2005
This box came out in Finland and Sweden. And had both the uncut and the cut series
Language setup ; Finnish, Swedish, Hungarian, Japanese
As you see there is a small theme with Gin and Beni. Well not forget Cross

A famous scene when Gin try to fight Benizakura. In the background you see Cross
Silver Fang, Hopeanuoli - Ginga Nagareboshi were ones more released uncut and with Japanese speak (Swedish, Finnish sub ) in the year of 2003.
And the name were ; "Ginga Nagareboshi Gin: Silver Fang  Special Edition DVD-Box"
This box were release at Sweden and Finland. And at first the box came out with a Finnish text on the cover. Later this one came out with Swedish text on the cover.

The special with the box is at one part Benizakura vs Gin image.

There are two image one with Gin and the gang, pack at the wild sea
Ready to jump in to swim to Shikoku.
And the other one as you see Gin & Benizakura fighting.
Well Beni make Gin fly , in a way : )
You see also in the image, photo the Japanese Ginga Nagareboshi Gin dvd Box .
That one were release in the year of 2008.

Some of the manga's with Benizukura on the cover

I haven't seen any merchandise, items with Benizakura.
Besides GNG figures set, on set two there is a small figure Benizakura (from the rare set 2)
And the lilac colors poster from one of the manga edition 2000-2001 ("telephone edition")
As well as the stickers,Magnet ;Cards Collection's
Perhaps I have missed, haven't seen any

In the year of  2010 we got to know a bit more of Benizakures past

In Business Jump (Shueisha) magazine Benizakuras past were published.Year 2010 (in three parts, volumes?)

The manga: Shin Gaiden vol 2
You see on the photo one manga with obi and one other with out

Here is a sweet fan-video : About Benizakura's past
Made by user HYAENA666

Benizakura show up as a ghost in the series of Ginga Densetsu Weed.
When Weed (son of Gin) Fights Hougen

In a interview last year Yoshihiro Takahashi announce that one of his favorite character were Benizakura : )

So that were some thought, I guess facts about Benizakura.
He made a impression for some of us fans and are in our hearts
As a True Warrior, wise Soul.
He inspire courage and showed determination in his way's.
A strong Ou warrior and a legend

It's hard to not remember Benizakura, right ?  ; )
He still impress me, when I look at the anime ;Ginga Nagareboshi Gin

One other think make me wonder;
How many owners had Benizakura ?
And how did he meet the boy, human boy who seem to be the owner  to him.
Before Benizakura leave the boy to Join the Ou Warriors

Have Benizakura any offspring ?

And how did it go for his brothers ?

Many thought and questions that can comes to mind ...
When I think about this legend

Do you remember Benizakura ?

The source's

Some have ask me about the source's that I use . So I though to do a small list
That are also good for me to, to keep a track as well.

First I can say that I try at lest to save info from the Japanese auction.
Some seller don't write so much about the items. But sometimes they do
So one of the source is : Yahoo auctions
This is a Japanese auction site. i myself use middlemen ( Middlemen- companies who can bid for you)  to bid at items there

Some source that I have been looking on for some years now ;

The Prism Stickers

So I were thinking to write, talk about Ginga Nagareboshi Gin merchandise

The Prism Stickers

Not so many talk about this sticker. What I have seen or heard
Perhaps they are unknown or not so popular   as other merchandise of Ginga.
But I like them much.
I think that they first sticker ,cards i got in my collection ,were just prism stickers really.
They are a bit hard to find now days.
The sticker have anime images of the characters.
Sadly there isn't any real source out that can show or tell about the Prims stickers

I'm myself have now  56 prism stickers and 52 folders.I also got special prims holder.
To be particular 31 with Color background:, 15 with Yellow background  and  10 with more Glitter prims background. The more colorful background's cards , can have sometime have a sort of frame.
So i guess that some can say that seem to be a four sticker , by the look.

Let's see on the image's
Here you see for example  Gin and Riki  with three different background and cards
Sorry for the light, I try to scan this and the glittery is hard to get without getting blaze looking light on the sticker.

The more Glittery Prims   (I have no name so I stick with that) is the more hard one to get of all three.
And the more clean, new looking of the three.
Your see the more yellow colored sticker .
And the more colorful background.

The sticker size:  6 cm x 6cm

The back on the stickers you see the different colors.
The white are from the more glittery stickers.

As you see there are Japanese text on all the sticker.
On the front and back

You can see the copyright on the back on the stickers and the folders
© 高橋よしひろ / 集英社・テレビ朝日・東映動画

What I can translate is :
Yoshihiro Takahashi / Shueisha ・TV Asahi ・ Toei Animation

As you know is that Yoshihiro Takahashi is the creator of the series.
Shueisha Inc is a major publisher in Japan.
They have give out many of the Ginga Nagareboshi Gin manga and still do.

Toei Animation Co., Ltd. As people probably know  is a Japanese anime that have made many anime serie and movies. It's own by Toei Co.Ltd
And Tv Asahi  ,TV Asahi Corporation is a Japanese television network.
You know  that Tv Asahi broadcast Ginga Nagareboshi Gin in Japanese TV:e in  the year  1986 : From  the date 7/4, until 22/9.

So that make things clear that  this were after the series were send on TV.
So perhaps 1986 or 1987 ?
I can't see date yet.

Let's see the folders & prims holder

The folder is the same as for the "Special stickers" (26 stickers & folders).

The copyright as the same as for the prism stickers on the back. But there is a stamp, sign that I can't translate. Perhaps a mark, sign for the company that produce/create the stickers.
Folder size; 13,5 cm x 8,5 cm

I have got two of the prims holder.
The front and the back
Each holder had 30 stickers with folders.
And there is a mix with the sticker, so you never know with sticker you are getting. As well as the different color backgrounds.
But one thing is that at the back , there is a glittery sticker tape/glue. Well at lest mostly of the times

Size:From the front to the back the holder is 26,5 cm x 9 cm
The Front size 11,5 cm x 9 cm
The back size 14 cm x 9 cm

I didn't find other photo and my camera are a bit weird now days.

So I add a old photo on my collection of the prims stickers.

Some rumor's says the prims stickers are max 30 stickers. But that not true at all.
Like I said before I have 56 stickers and  wonder if there are 60 or even more.
With out any source, info there is hard to know for sure.
Right know we can only guess

 But, but I have a theory ^^
If trading cards & collector's sticker are 60 card of each set so why couldn't the prims sticker be at the same number ?
That could be a even, equally number , right
With 60 I mean

That make you wonder how many there is when it comes to the Ginga Nagareboshi Gin menko cards and the magnet's.

I like the prims sticker more then the other stickers and  collection cards.
Not only the look more beautiful, a special with the color frame that the color background sticker has.
And the character are more in the center at the prism stickers. Then the others stickers, cards and so one .
Well at lest in my mind at lest : )
And they feel more retro style with prims stickers

Phone & Tosho Cards

Note that this is some I have learn from Japanese sites, source and what some contact what told.
So like I have said before; this is talk, theory, ideas

--------
There have been talk about telephone, phone card's and how people can be confused with this tosho cards.
To be true this were confusing for me too at first.
So this is what I have learned so far
I had never heard about those tosho card until I got one.
It most have been : Ginga Densetsu Weed Tosho Card
At the date 9/6 -2011 . When I got this one

Weed Tosho  card. That were Prize item for 200 readers of Ginga Densetsu Weed World.

So what is tosho card's ?
Well Tosho card is some kind of payment cards bookstores in Japan.
But what I heard you can buy pens, notebooks or other things

With the The Edition of  2006-2007; Ginga Nagareboshi Gin manga there were Tosho card as well

Some of mine GNG tosho card's

The Second edition came out in the years of 1990-1991
And their were soon 14 volumes

The volume were 10 volumes
So in the year 2004 it came a fourth edition. This one had also 10 volumes

I can recommend you to take a look at GingaPedia if you is interested in the manga covers: Image's on wiki_Finnish: Yamato Manga

So when it come to the merchandise, then ?

- With the the third edition, from year 2001 ; Some of the manga's came with bookmark's
So far I have only seen Seven books marks

 Here is mine bookmarks.
The one with orange background seems to be hardest to find.
At lest so far I have seen and heard

I have a theory about the bookmarks.
Note that the images at the bookmarks are from the second edition (1990- 1991),  Jump Comic deluxe mangas. They were 14 volumes of the manga at that edition .
So perhaps it's 14 bookmarks out there.  It's just an idea
Just take a look  at  Image's on wiki_Finnish: Yamato Manga  and look at the 7 bookmarks.

A other theory is;  Special, chosen images, drawings
I at lest only seen those 7 bookmarks. So perhaps there were some of the images, drawing that were chosen to be bookmarks.
But why only seven ?
And why were that the the pocket edition (third edition, from year 2001) that had/have those book marks ?

It's bad there isn't so many sources, for us who don't speak, read Japanese or even find just a sources that can give us more info.
For I like the bookmarks with Yamato very much . They are special looking .
Hm perhaps I will do a deeper topic about them later on and hope that I find more sources.

-Telephone card
It's seems like Takahashi & Monthly Shonen Jump release some phone cards with Yamato
I think I have seen 3-4 on  Japanese auction.
One do I own, it's a 20 th Anniversary (Monthly Jump). On the card is the image of Ryo & Yamato

So is there more out there ?

I believe so .At lest I hope so, I love the series of Yamato
Take a look at this add that I have scan

This seems to be from a Anniversary (according to Monthly Jump)
Please don't use the image without approve from me
Sadly the true is:
That Yamato
Merchandise are much harder to get or even see
I think that popularity of other series of Yoshihiro Takahashi  can have done that Yamato became a bit of forgotten.Came in the shadows a bit .
It's just a theory, thought

I love to see more merchandise, item's .

The Start and some talk

So this is the start of my blog

Oh boy it's have been forever since I start blog or write online (blog, life journals, journals).
But this feels as a good start. Well lets hope so at lest

So I have been around for a time.
At first I were enchant or bewitch about the series called Silver Fang, that most been in around the year/s 1986-1988. When I saw Silver Fang  for the first time.

The first edition of the vhs were release as rent vhs at the time.
And are nowdays hard to get by.
I got vol 2 & 4 at my home town , at a store who rent and soled vhs, newspapers, magazines , candy and other things.
My dear mother were that one who gave the two vhs as birthday presents. I also got "Skriet från vildmarken" (Call of the wild) the animated movie, at the same time. I remember that my younger brother were very young . I recall that they were with me when I opened the presents.
So it's most been around the years 1989- 1991.
So Sweet times ^^  to be a kid ones more

Lets see I got vol 3 on a auction, the Swedish  auction site called: tradera
For a good price.
Lets see vol 4 , the last vhs
It most been around 2002 ? Or something early or later

The second release I got were also at my home town store. But this time I got all four at same time.
Those eight vhs's are very special to me. And also the start of the collection hunt of Ginga.

Some time I learned the original name were Ginga Nagareboshi Gin
And so also start the hunt for facts, info about the series
That catch the heart : )

So I have told the short story how I meet Silver Fang , Ginga Nagareboshi Gin. And learn later about Yoshihiro Takahashi, and his other work.

This have been a long time.
And my collection of Silver Fang, Ginga,Ginga Nagareboshi Gin and Yoshihiro Takahashi.

On the photo you see some of the many , many manga's of Yoshihiro Takahashi that I have in the collection.
And yes those take up space in the
bookcase  ; )

So last year I made a collection site , there you can look  on my list and photo's

I have never ever called myself an expert on Ginga or Yoshihiro Takahashi. But it's true I have been around for a time now. * Bahaa I hate to feeling old *
But the best thing about Ginga, Yoshihiro Takahashi item's,merchandise , manga's and other things. as facts info that you learn always some new things.
You never know what can show up on  Japanese auctions, that are one source (of many)

But I hope that fellow Collectors  can perhaps help each other out. Support, give tips and talk, share their  knowledge, photos, memory's, items
That sound great in my ears  and mind ^^
